Space Pirates

Space Pirates is a single screen shoot 'em up game where the player has to defend a space station that is being attacked by space pirates. The pirates are attempting to steal grain barges that are awaiting convoy transports and the player needs to shoot them down before they get away with the barges. The space station is located in the middle of the screen and the player moves a ship around using Asteroids-like controls. Enemies appear from all sides and try to escape with the barges. There are two types of pirates: the regular ones which are easy to shoot down and the juggernauts which are shielded and can fire longer beams. The game ends when there are no barges left on the screen.

It is possible to create new space station designs for use in the game. This however requires the use of a separate graphics utility, Ed-A-Sketch, which was also published by Software Toolworks. Two additional space station designs are included on the disk.
