Set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again.

β€’ First-Person Action – Players will assume the role of Ethan Winters and experience every up-close battle and terrifying pursuit through a first-person perspective.

β€’ Familiar Faces and New Foes – Chris Redfield has typically been a hero in the Resident Evil series, but his appearance in Resident Evil Village seemingly shrouds him in sinister motives. A host of new adversaries inhabiting the village will relentlessly hunt Ethan and hinder his every move as he attempts to make sense of the new nightmare he finds himself in.

Fun, but not scary.

The Good
It was a fun experience that ties up RE7 really well, with a hopeful continuation of the game. The gameplay, collectibles, and the bosses were all really good (especially lady D.😏). It was very fun to run around finding bigger and better guns to use as well as anything else one could gather.

The Bad
It wasn't scary, I guess it all depends on how you view the Resident Evil series but the reason why I enjoy RE7 over RE8 was 'cause RE7 was actually scary. The atmosphere was nigh perfect for fear and tension, the bosses were akin to the first 3 RE games, but RE8 takes a more action approach which is why the RE series was in a slump to begin with.

The Bottom Line
A good finish to the duology of Ethan Winters.
