MLB The Show 25 is a release in the long-running baseball sports series for the year 2025. It includes various modes that allow players to craft their own path, from high school baseball to the Hall of Fame, while engaging with iconic baseball stars.

In Road to the Show, players embark on a single-player, role-playing experience where they create and develop a custom baseball player. The Path to 99 Progression system offers full control over attribute development, allowing players to craft their character’s skills and perks. The mode introduces The Amateur Years, featuring high school and college games that influence draft stock. The college portion includes eight fully licensed teams such as Louisiana State University, University of South Carolina, University of Tennessee, and UCLA. Equipment rewards are now tied to seasonal and career performance, while revamped gameplay includes enhanced impact plays such as hot shot catches, catcher block mechanics, and new base-running maneuvers. Additional features include a first-person fielding camera option and a revised base-running control scheme.

Franchise Mode allows players to manage a team with the goal of winning the World Series. Player Valuation Logic and Contract Logic have been improved for a more realistic experience. A new Front Office Experience introduces Free Agency: Battle of the Big Boards, a strategic system that adds risk-and-reward elements to the pursuit of top free agents. March to October returns, allowing players to control key moments throughout the season.

Diamond Dynasty enables players to build a dream team by collecting and earning player cards. The updated Diamond Dynasty: 360 removes time-limited seasonal restrictions and introduces adjustments to the pace of progression, in-game programs, and team affinity. The mode also features Diamond Quest, a roguelike-style experience where players earn rewards through gameplay challenges and boss encounters. Weekend Classic offers a periodic solo-ranked event with competitive, high-stakes matches. A Community Stats feature provides in-game performance comparisons against other players.

Storylines mode continues to celebrate baseball history, with The Negro Leagues: Season 3 introducing players to significant figures from the sport’s past. This mode blends immersive gameplay with visual storytelling to highlight career-defining moments of barrier-breaking players.
