Overview edit · view history

Daedalic Entertainment is a developer and publisher of computer and video games, producing games with a strong focus on storytelling. Based in Hamburg, Germany, the company was founded in early 2007 and currently employs more than 30 people. Daedalic was founded by Carsten Fichtelmann, formerly of German publisher dtp entertainment AG, and Jan Müller-Michaelis.

Daedalic has successfully marketed products like Ankh: Battle of the Gods, Benoît Sokal’s Sinking Island and eXperience112 and has won a number of accolades, including two 2008 German Developer Awards for Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, its first internally developed title.

In May 2014, 51% of the company was bought by Bastei Lübbe AG, a German book and dime novel publisher. In May 2020, Fichtelmann, together with COO Stephan Harms, bought back 41% of Bastai Lübbe's shares for a resulting majority share of 90%.

On 30 June 2023, Daedalic Entertainment announced to halt internal development and focus on game publishing. This included the cancelling of a Lord of the Rings game that had been in development since mid-2022.
