Overview edit · view history
Visceral Games was a development studio of Electronic Arts and operated as part of its EA Games label, focused on mature games. The studio had different offices over the world carrying the Visceral Games name, but the original, main studio was located in Redwood Shores, California (USA). It was in the same location as the EA corporate headquarters.
The Visceral Games brand was established on 4 May 2009 in the reformed studio Electronic Arts Redwood Shores Studio, which was already active since 1998.
The other Visceral Games studios were located in Los Angeles (USA), Montreal (Canada), Melbourne (Australia) and Shanghai (China). Visceral often provided support to projects with developers from different Visceral branches. In that case, the main Visceral Games (Redwood Shores) company is credited.
The studio's closure was announced by Electronic Arts on 17 October 2017, while the studio was working on a Star Wars-licensed game.
