Overwatch 2
Description official description
Overwatch 2 is a team-based, multiplayer first-person shooter game and the follow-up to the first Overwatch. The sequel has similar gameplay and is largely an evolution of the first game, with both new and recurring characters and gameplay elements. It takes place in a future Earth where players take on the role of heroes with unique abilities and work together to complete objectives and defeat the enemy team. The game features a diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique backstory and abilities, and introduces new maps and locations set in various parts of the world.
The game offers a range of gameplay modes, including control, assault, escort, and hybrid, where teams compete against each other to complete objectives. Players can choose from a roster of heroes, each with their own unique abilities and strengths, and must work together to achieve victory. The game also includes a progression system, allowing players to level up and earn new cosmetic items, as well as in-game rewards.
One of the distinctive features is the introduction of a new game mode called Push, which features a large robot pushing a payload across the map. Players must work together to defend the payload and escort it to its destination, while the enemy team tries to stop them. Additionally, it introduces new maps and locations, including Toronto, Rio de Janeiro, and Monte Carlo, as well as new story elements and missions.
The game is free-to-play. It uses a battle pass as a progression system that allows players to earn in-game rewards as they play the game. The battle pass is a feature that can be purchased or earned through gameplay, and it provides a tiered reward structure for players to progress through. Players earn rewards for reaching certain levels, or tiers, in the battle pass by earning experience points through playing the game. The rewards can range from cosmetic items such as skins, emotes, and sprays, to in-game currency, hero voice lines, and other cosmetic items. Players can track their progress through the battle pass in the game's user interface. The battle pass also includes bonus challenges that can be completed to earn additional rewards and experience points. These challenges can range from playing a certain number of games, to completing objectives, or earning specific achievements. The battle pass offers players a way to earn rewards and customizations while they play the game and progress through the tiers.
