Description

Tale of the Dragon is an expansion pack for the real-time strategy game Age of Mythology: Extended Edition. It is the second expansion to Age of Mythology and the first new expansion to the game in 13 years, but this one is exclusive to the Extended Edition of the game.

The expansion pack was developed by the Forgotten Empires team with the assistance of Skybox Labs. It introduces the Chinese faction with three major gods as usual (Fu Xi, Nü Wa, and Shennong), a new fully voice-acted campaign, a new unit each for the existing factions which fill voids in their arsenals (also introduced in prior Extended Edition patches), new gameplay modes, new map templates and other tweaks to gameplay. All owners of the Tales of the Dragon DLC have a special themed main menu design.

Too far from the original.

The Good
Improving on the already existing elements of the game.

Reigniting the flame with a bit updated visuals.

New Campaign

The Bad
Balancing issues. Doesn't stick to the original theme. Lackluster campaign. Do not understand why it doesn't get the same treatment as Age of Empires II for example.

The Bottom Line
A game that reignites the nostalgic feeling of Age of Mythology. Unfortunately that's all that it has going for it. On its own it does little to almost nothing or unfortunately even destroys certain elements of the original games: bad balancing.
