Simon Franco (December 13, 1978 – June 7, 2014) started as a programmer at Activision in 2001. His first credited work was programming for the PS2 version of Weakest Link (2001). In January 2004 he joined the UK development studio The Creative Assembly. After he passed away in June 2014, Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation (2014) as well as Lock's Quest (2017) were dedicated to him. In November 2014 the studio organized Franco Jam, an in-house game jam streamed online to commemorate Franco and raise money for Millbridge Ward of The Royal Surrey County Hospital.
He was the brother of David J. Franco.
