Hello everyone,

On December 2013, I posted this intro & announcement about acquiring MobyGames from GameFly.

Since then a lot has happened and we've documented a great deal of information!

Now, after developing and running MobyGames for over a decade, I decided to move onto new things. Back to indie land!

Over the past few months we've been migrating my roles and all of Moby's components to Atari's team (who acquired the site in 2022) to ensure continuity. They are now fully operating the platform and overseeing its continued development. The goal was to have a smooth transition and I think we've accomplished this.

Two of Atari's team are here, David (communications) and Carly (community manager), who are very lovely people and are available to help answer any questions the community may have. They are running our Discord and social media channels, and have already become acquanted with our admins and approvers.

Also Tracy is still here, who has been involved on the development side of MobyGames for most of my tenure. We built the entire new site together from the ground up! He is now posting the update logs and continues development work along with a new dev from Atari who has been onboarded.

Thanks to Simon Carless, Tracy Poff, Brian Hirt, Jim Leonard, Wade Rosen for everything.

Thanks to all of our admins, approvers and contributors. You are the beating heart of MobyGames and it would not be the reliable resource it is without your heroic documentation efforts.

I'm happy to have played a part in this amazing project and to have seen its 25th Birthday. I'm now watching from the sidelines and look forward to Moby's 50th!

Good luck Reed! I hope Atari won't close us down eventually 😅.

We are going to keep investing in MobyGames, it has a unique and important mission and we expect it to remain an important site to players, fans, collectors and to the industry.

I don't doubt your best intentions, but will those survive mergers and acquisitions that might lead to the site one day belong to another fash billionaire? What happens then?

Anyway, many thanks to Reed (and Simon, and Tracy) for keeping the lights on thus far.
