The MobyGames subscription service is officially exiting early access and we are launching a new suite of subscriptions based on our learnings.
Paid subscribers in the early access program will be locked into their current level of fees and services for as long as they maintain their subscription.
The New MobyGames Subscription Program
MobyPlus ($4.99/mo) â This program replaces MobyPro and includes all the advanced data, searches, high-resolution downloads, and tools of the early access program, excluding API access.
Hobbyist API ($9.99/mo.) â non-commercial access to the MobyGames API at 0.2 requests a second.
MobyPlus & Hobbyist API Bundle ($12.99/mo) â this bundle includes all the benefits of MobyPlus and non-commercial API access at 0.2 requests per second.
MobyGames API Bronze ($99.99/mo.) â commercial API access at up to 1 request per second.
MobyGames API Silver ($499.99/mo.) â commercial API access at up to 4 requests per second plus customer support.
MobyGames API Gold ($4,999.99/mo.) â commercial API access at up to 8 requests per second plus customer support and credits for 1.1 million people.

At that price tag, the first answer that comes to mind is AI firms.

8 per second doesn't sound like much, but because our API lets you get multiple games per request, it's enough to get updated data for every game in less than an hour.

+1. Or something like a pay as you go data plan. At the end of the day, this is all about bandwidth cost so just give people the option to buy 10GB worth of API calls once.

We do have annual subscriptions at a discount, but I can pass along the suggestion of lifetime subscriptions. I understand not wanting yet another monthly charge.
